The Cincinnati Community ToolBank is joining forces with Habitat for Humanity (HFHGC) for the 2018 Rock the Block that will be taking place on April 14 in the Lockland community!
Rock the Block is a neighborhood clean-up day that includes exterior home repair and maintenance, such as painting and landscaping. Rock the Block calls all neighbors, homeowners, and renters to be outside together, working in the yard, and having fun. Come rain or shine, Rock the Block aims to celebrate community and hope throughout the Village of Lockland.
This year, the Cincinnati ToolBank will be partnering with HFHGC to provide tools and equipment for event volunteers! “The Cincinnati Community ToolBank is happy to partner with Habitat to support the Lockland community,” says Kat Pepmeyer, Executive Director of the Cincinnati ToolBank. “The ToolBank will be equipping volunteers with the tools and equipment they need to complete their service projects. This year, the ToolBank will on site with our mobile tool center to make sure all volunteers have the right tools for the job!”
Habitat for Humanity has organized two successful Rock the Block one-day neighborhood cleanup and repair events; Newport in October 2016 and Walnut Hills in June 2017. These events are successful as a result of collaboration among multiple community organizations, sponsors, and local government. Hundreds of volunteers of all ages from inside and outside repaired and beautified homes, cleaned up streets and alleys, and hauled away tons of debris.
